The year is 2191.

The country is the United States.

The current regime, The Trust, has been in power for over one hundred years.

The Trust takes care of you from cradle to grave--they provide you with housing, education, jobs, vehicles--but, in exchange, they control everything about your life. What color car you will drive. Where you will live. And, most important of all: who you will marry and how many children you will have.

Do you fight them or favor them?

History Georgina O'Brien was adopted into the O'Brien family like her older brother and younger sister. Though she wasn't born there, Georgia has spent her whole life in Tidewater, Rhode Island. Her biological family had no living members and she's never really cared about being adopted. Her parents adopted her a year after her brother was adopted, and her younger sister a year later, wanting their children to all be close in age.

Their childhood was painfully normal. Their parents may not have been passionately in love, but they were always friendly towards each other. This seemed far more important to George, and she would later strive for the same in her marriage. Her father worked as a doctor. Her mother never worked, but occasionally would babysit neighbor kids. Georgina got along with other children fairly well.

This was of benefit when Georgina went to boarding school at six, getting her sensor bracelet, and her sister followed close behind her. It was useful to have someone to go through the experience with. She helped her sister out, though the youngest O’Brien didn't take to schooling as well as her sister did.

Where her sister faltered, George flourished socially and academically. She was quite good at making friends with the other girls and was always very good in her classes. Well, excepting arts and interior design. She is utterly untalented and has no eye for colour. She always tried to include her little sister in her friend groups, but it mostly just seemed to annoy the younger rather than help. At the end of school, she passed her exams. Not quite high enough to be drafted at 18, but close.

She was first drafted at 19 and it was not unsucessful. They were quite good friends, even if they never made things work quite right in the bedroom. This was mostly due to the fact that her husband was not as interested in her as he was the neighbor’s wife. When they were found having an affair, George was quite shocked. She hadn't even suspected. It would have hurt more, she supposed, if he hadn’t started the affair well before their draft. He was jailed, then executed.

And so, Georgina returned to the draft pool and into her parents house. During this transition, they removed her sensor bracelet and upgraded her to a chip instead. It was strange to suddenly have to accessorize bracelets instead of having one provided at all times. But then she discovered watches. That works almost as nicely.

Despite her initial Draft’s struggles, George still has faith in the draft and in the Trust. They couldn't have foreseen that complication, nor could they have done it to her on purpose. Right?
