AppearanceNova is pretty and she knows it. She gets her hair did, her claws filed and loads up the mascara to play up her big brown doe eyes. She's fairly slim by choice and of average height for a woman. She dresses carefully, always looking to flatter in one way or another.
HistoryNova has always been needy, always had something to bitch about. But being the middle of twelve it was bound to get ugly isn't it? When she was very young, Nichole was her mom in her mind. She had no memories of her birth mom and Nichole had always been there. The period of time when she clued in was hard, it upset her a lot. But with her "mom" being black and her decidedly not, it was impossible to hide it to soften the blow. Just like there was no way to console her when Nichole died. Add that to the drama of getting her bracelet and being shipped off to school and you can understand how it was an intense few years.
When Marian came on to the scene it was still a rocky road. She felt more like a babysitter than mother material and she freaked Nova right out. This was when the little girl started to look up to her big sister Helen more and more. Not only was her big sister safe and stable, unlike Marian, but she was also beautiful and smart and perfect. Nova started to copycat almost everything Helen did. It caused her a little trouble here and there: dressing older than she ought to or annoying her big sister, but overall Helen was an excellent example to live by. Nova's grades improved and the teachers started to give her glowing reports.
Still, she'd never quite be perfect first-born Helen would she?
Growing up in Old Town, things occasionally got a little wild. Too many kids, not enough supervision, you know? But not so much for Nova, she was too busy trying to be the perfect future wife. She was never the first choice of babysitter around Old Town though, too short a temper to handle all the wild children around-she always seemed to end up screaming or crying from the frustration. She was good with the few quieter little girls though, if they could be appeased by playing dress-up or getting a make-over then they'd love Nova Acidalia.
Nova was drafted at nineteen and it was truly a match made in heaven. (it still bugs her that she didn't get gold-star-eighteen marks like Helen) Any feeling she'd ever had of being over-looked or under-appreciated would be sated during her four year marriage to Roger. He was in his fourties and beyond thrilled to get a beautiful young wife. Roger was of the opinion that Nova walked on water: he catered to her every whim by day, and worshipped at her alter every night. It was perfection.
Until the day he went missing without a trace, the police department said he might had owe some bad debt to some very bad people. Nova was inconsolable. How was she supposed to go on without her one true love? Though the keen observer might note that Nova never quite loved Roger, so much as loved the way he treated her. Either way, she knows her life might never be that good or easy again.
Now, Nova is back at home with dad and pseudo-stepmommy dearest. She's grown used to having things exactly her way and having to balance that with her old family life isn't going great. Her current plan is the lay down the law with her new husband, it's her way or the highway to a land of chastity. She's not sure how that one's going to go. She wants to be a great wife, and she will be so long as her husband knows exactly how fucking lucky he is to have her.
